Behold Kumail Nanjiani as KINGO in LEXUS IS 500 Commercial
In a brand-new long-form commercial for Lexus, the exclusive automotive partner for Eternals, the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, Kumail Nanjiani steps out in the role of Kingo (his character from the movie) to find a place to park his brand new Lexus IS 500 F SPORT so that he can save the world!
The Eternal known for his wealth and Bollywood career, Kingo’s impressive vehicle has a 472-horsepower V8 engine. The catch? He’s late for a big battle between the Eternals and the Deviants, and he’s having a devil of a time finding a decent parking spot! Hence, the title of the long-form “Parking Spot”, which you can watch for yourself below to get a sense of this Eternal’s sense of humor.

“Parking Spot”: Kingo versus Parking
The “Parking Spot” was directed by none other than Anthony and Joe Russo, the duo of directors behind some of your favorite MCU movies, including Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame (one of the highest grossing films of all time).
Plus, the two-minute advertisement is narrated by the new voice of Lexus, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actor Gaius Charles and features VFX by the Oscar-winning production company Framestore.
The commercial begins with a premise that some things are worth protecting at all costs, and if you’re Kingo the Bollywood star, that includes your sparkly new Lexus IS sports sedan.
Over the course of the clip, Kingo attempts to locate a place to park his car so that it won’t get a scratch during the battle with the Deviants… but one thing after another keeps going wrong (after all, that’s how it goes with a big superhero battle, Marvel Blog True Believers)!
As he attempts to park (how hue-man of him), we get to see some of the impressive features of the Lexus IS 500. First, Sersi (Gemma Chan) text messages him to inform him that the Deviants have arrived, which the car reads aloud (so Kingo can keep his eyes on the road).
Next, he gets an urgent call from Sprite (Lia McHugh). Can he make it to the battle in time? And are all these reminders helping or hindering him? I guess it depends how much anxiety an Eternal has after being on Earth for so many years!

“The Avengers Wouldn’t Be Late”

And if you can’t get enough of the MCU car commercials, this isn’t the first time that Marvel teamed up with Lexus. Back in 2014, Marvel Comics published Lexus Presents: Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D in the Chase by George Kitson, Mirko Colak, Neil Edwards, Mirco Pierfederici, Frank D’Armata, Vero Gandini, John Rauch, Sotocolor, and Joe Sabino, depicting a previously unseen mission of Coulson and friends.
