Hailee Steinfeld Talks What Happened to Kate Bishop After Thanos’ Snap
The next series in Marvel’s jam-packed Phase Four slate has taken Disney+ by storm. Recently, lead actress Hailee Steinfeld gave some background information on what may have happened to Kate Bishop after The Snap.
Hawkeye
Hawkeye recently debuted with a fantastic two-episode premiere, which gave fans their very first look at the MCU’s newest duo.
Armed with incredible action, humor, and holiday fun, I think the series is Marvel’s most grounded exploration in the MCU yet. The first two entries set the groundwork for an interesting series focused on the more human side of heroism.
One of the most exciting additions to the series was showing Kate Bishop‘s experience during the Battle of New York, which offered a new perspective: a young scared kid, saved by the actions of the Avengers.
This addition did, however, confuse certain fans as some were unsure as to how the timeline worked, with the battle canonically happening during the year 2012 within the MCU.
We may have some more insight through the star of the series, Hailee Steinfeld, as she spoke about what happened to Kate Bishop after Thanos’ snap.
Bishop Survived The Snap
The young actress spoke to The Wrap about the Hawkeye series and answered a specific question asking her if her character, Kate Bishop, survived the Blip that disappeared half of all life on the universe.
“No, I believe that we see her survive,” Steinfeld stated. “We see, you know, loss there as well, and that didn’t happen to her.”
The comment, although succinct, tells us a lot about what we can expect out of the series, while also setting right some people confused by the timeline.
The series takes place around 2024 if we follow the canon of the MCU post Avengers: Infinity War. If Bishop was around 10 during the events of the Battle of New York, it gives us reason to believe she is exactly how old she tells Clint that she is in the first episode.
If, however, she was a causality of the Blip, and suffered the fate of disappearance for the five years on Avengers: Endgame, then that means she would be around 16 during Hawkeye.
What’s even more interesting about Steinfled’s quote is that it points to what could be a plot point of the series: we could see how the events of the Blip affected Bishop prior to her meeting Barton during the Hawkeye series.
This new information on the MCU Kate Bishop is an interesting addition to what we already know, and at MarvelBlog, it definitely excites us about continuing to see how Kate and Clint’s adventure unfolds.
