Welcome Back Yelena
The video featured tons of clips from interviews with the stars and crew behind Hawkeye, the ongoing Marvel Cinematic Universe series on Disney+, the season finale of which arrives for streaming tomorrow, on Wednesday, December 22nd, 2021.
Among the interviews included in the clip are quotations from the directors of Hawkeye, Rhys Thomas (who points out the chemistry between Yelena and Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld)) and directing team Bert and Bertie (who relished witnessing Natasha Romanoff’s sister interacting with Clint Barton’s protegee).
Pugh appears as well (although be warned, Marvel Blog True Believers: her accent in interviews is very different from the one you know from Yelena), and emphasizes how invigorating it was to get the opportunity to jump into action with Scarlett Johansson’s former scene partners.
She also says that she didn’t initially expect that they would end up pitting Yelena against Clint (Jeremy Renner). “I did not see it coming,” she remarked. “Which I thought was a really cool twist.”
And naturally, the clip includes footage of the mac and cheese discussion between Yelena and Kate! If you’re anything like us, Marvel Blog True Believers, you adored this scene, and the people behind the scene seem to realize the potential of the chemistry between the two All-New, All-Different superheroes, as well.
“It’s been a really good first two years in the MCU,” Pugh concluded.
