Simu Liu Seemingly Confirms That Shang-Chi Will Return For ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’
When Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings earned $450 million at the global box office at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, it seemed Simu Liu was poised to become Marvel’s next breakout star.
Praised by critics and audiences alike, the Shang-Chi franchise was positioned as a key pillar of Marvel’s post-Endgame future.

In the years since, however, Liu’s titular hero has been largely absent from the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
That will change later this year with the release of Avengers: Doomsday.
Shang-Chi Will Return
Not only will Shang-Chi return for the multiversal adventure, but it looks like he will also join Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

With just three months to go until Doomsday hits theaters, Liu has shared an update on his Marvel future.

While we know that Simu Liu will be joining the Avengers for their next adventure, the status of Shang-Chi 2 is less clear.
A Look Ahead
During a recent interview with Itzyreviews, however, Liu gave fans new hope.

“I have the same questions. I think soon. First Doomsday, then Secret Wars, and then Shang-Chi 2,” he said.
Liu’s comments were particularly interesting, as they seemingly confirm that Shang-Chi will survive the events of Avengers: Doomsday and return for Secret Wars.

Additionally, it sounds like Shang-Chi 2 may come to fruition after all.
Hopefully, Liu continues to anchor the Marvel Cinematic Universe moving forward.
