‘Shang-Chi’ Earns a Critics Choice Nomination
While the year will end with the focus on Spider-Man: No Way Home, Shang-Chi has made an incredible stamp on the Marvel universe, blowing audiences away at the end of the summer.
Filled with superb action sequences and charismatic performances, Shang-Chi earns a Critics Choice Nomination for visual effects.

Filled to the Brim with Beautiful Environments and Creatures
From the moment we are introduced to the film through the moving bamboo forest, the myriad of intricate visual effects captivate you. These fantastical effects manage to enhance the overall film and through them the audience is able to gain a greater feel for each environment, creature, and battle.
Environments such as Ta Lo, are brought to life through lush green mountainous terrain filled with mystical creatures that move with grace and purpose. These creatures, originating from Chinese mythology, are brought to life and include the graceful nine-tailed fox and the ambiguous horse-dragon Qiilin.

The film’s most adorable visual effect arrives in the form of Morris, a tiny faceless creature that actively communicates through movement and sound. Morris is beautifully brought to life and seamlessly interacts with the cast thanks to the splendid work of Shang Chi’s creative team.
Heart-Racing Action Enhanced by Visual Effects
Perhaps the greatest visual effects occur throughout Shang Chi’s heart-racing combat. Whether Shang is fighting assassins on a bus, jumping through scaffolding on the side of a building, or fighting toe to toe with his father Wenwu the visual effects are an integral part of each action sequence.

The final action sequences between the armies of Ta Lo and the Ten Rings, as well between Shang Chi and Wenwu, culminates in a variety of intense grand explosive sequences. The fantastical visual effects create a stunning scene of earth moving action!
Future is Bright for Shang Chi
Shang Chi has made his indelible mark on the Marvel Cinematic Universe throughout the year of 2021, earning nominations in a variety of awards. The People’s Choice Awards, Hollywood’s Critics association, and now the Critics Choice awards have all nominated the film for various accolades.
Suffice to say there is much more to come from the martial master super hero, and we cannot way to see more! For now though the creative team should be proud that Shang Chi earns a Critics Choice nomination for visual effects.
