‘Morbius’ Should be on a Collision Course With One MCU Character (And it Isn’t Spider-Man)
Following Spider-Man: No Way Home, and the films undoubted status as one of the most successful films of recent memory, Sony has justified its continued exploration into its own Spider-Verse with its newest film; but Morbius should be on a collision course with one MCU character, and it’s not Spider-Man
Sony’s highly anticipated Morbius is one of the more interesting titles to come out of the world of Marvel comics; with the lesser-known villain representing one of the more obscure Marvel creations to sport its very own solo film.
The sympathetic, yet vampiric, member of Spider-Man’s illustrious rogue’s gallery was always perceived as a challenge for Sony, given general audiences’ lack of exposure to the character through the vast Spider-Man adaptations through the years.
Yet, Morbius was developed, and has ended up being one of the most anticipated films of 2022; with Jared Leto playing the title role, the film seems to be one of the more interesting additions to Sony’s Spider-Verse lore and should act as an interesting addition.
We’ve already discussed how we believe that Morbius could possibly occur within the MCU, and with the Multiverse now running rampant, it does appear anything is possible within the Marvel and Sony universe of films.
However, if Morbius does take place within the MCU, it presents an interesting potential faceoff that we would very much be in store for; and were not referring to the inevitable faceoff with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.
Morbius should be on a collision course with one MCU character.
And that character should be Blade.
Mahershala Ali was announced as The Daywalker a few years ago and has been vocal about the project continuing to move forward.
With Blade acting as the Marvel Universes resident Vampire Hunter, what better introduction than to have him go head to head with, what would be Marvel’s first vampire sighting.
A film that sees Leto and Ali go head to head would be incredible, and we think it would be the perfect way to develop Morbius and Blade away from the Web-Slinger; with both tremendous performers that could give fans one of the most interesting Marvel adaptations to date.
