Who Is Moon Knight?
The new brand-new Moon Knight trailer gives fans an extended look at Oscar Isaac in the leading the role, who is described in the official description as “complex vigilante who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. The multiple identities who live inside him find themselves thrust into a deadly war of the gods against the backdrop of modern and ancient Egypt.”
Isaac is playing Marc Spector, who is better known as the vigilante Moon Knight. In the comics, he has multiple identities including the millionaire Steven Grant, who is a financier and film producer (by day) in Hollywood to support the vigilante activities of the Moon Knight (by night).
The imagery in the new trailer heavily calls to mind the 2016 Marvel Comic’s Moon Knight run by Jeff Lemire, Wilfredo Torres, Francesco Francavilla, James Stokoe, and Cory Petit. And at Marvel Blog, we wouldn’t be surprised if the Disney+ series is heavily inspired by this series.
The 2016 run deals with how each of Spector’s identities were used as a shield to protect those who travel by night, but in the trailers there is still one identity yet to be named: Jake Lockley, the cabbie who keeps his ear to the ground.
Crescent Darts Poster
In addition to the trailer, Marvel also released a brand new poster to announce Moon Knight‘s premiere on Disney+ in March.
The poster features picture of Moon Knight’s arms and his weapon of choice, the Crescent Darts.
