Master Mordo Could be Primed for a Massive Role in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’
A character that has been lost in the shuffle of so many theories, it appears as though Master Mordo could be primed for a massive role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
The machine that is the MCU, and its extremely committed fanbase, has always been known for one thing; nearly perfecting the art of rabid theorization.
There isn’t a single franchise that can boast the kind of engagement that comes from MCU fans; and engagement that has only multiplied thanks to the endless possibilities that have arisen out of Marvel’s Phase Four tackling the deteriorating and delicate multiverse.
With all the theorizing that has taken place as to just who could appear in the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel, it seems as though one guaranteed appearance has flown a bit under the radar.
And, based on what we’ve seen in the latest trailer that debut on Super Bowl Sunday, we believe that the now titled Master Mordo could be primed for a massive role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
With the character returning after his appearance was teased in the post-credit scene of the first Doctor Strange film, many fans assumed that Baron Mordo would be the main antagonist of the sequel.
Yet, with Marvel’s Phase Four exploring the multiverse, it seems that is no longer the case, with the film now set to explore the various realities and universe that Strange set loose after his events in Spider-MAn: No Way Home.
Baron Mordo will likely no longer be the main antagonist, but could have a major role; as it appears as though he is a member of the Illuminati set to make their MCU debut in the newest Doctor Strange film.
We see Mordo insinuate that Doctor Strange must pay for his crimes against reality, where we are then shown Strange apprehended by what appears to be a council of individuals.
In the faintness of the scene, it appears as though Master Mordo is the character walking behind the many chairs, which leads us to assume that he is, in fact, a member of this incarnation of the Illuminati.
Although there is no precedent in the source material for Mordo’s appointment on the council, Doctor Strange is typically a member of the Illuminati; which could lead to Mordo eventually being uncovered as a multiversal sorcerer supreme and the Doctor Strange of his own reality.
These are all theories, and we are still unsure as to what role the character will play in the film, but one thing is certain; Master Mordo will be important in the upcoming film.
