Newest Doctor Strange 2 Trailer May Feature an Iconic Return
Super Bowl Sunday saw Marvel debut brand new looks at both Moon Knight and the latest installment of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness; with the newest trailer came the possibility that the upcoming film may feature an iconic return.
Marvel’s lauded Phase Four has featured a conscious attempt to reconstruct the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it, breaking the Marvel mold, and bringing forth a completely reimagined MCU.
With Loki and WandaVision, fans got their first glimpse into that very reconstruction, as Marvel Studios brought to the forefront of the MCU the idea of the multiverse, alternate realities, and branch timelines to prepare the audience for the unthinkable.
That idea was only expounded upon in the record-breaking, critical darling, that was Spider-Man: No Way Home; a film that brought together three generations of Peter Parker in a story that acted as the first true example of these alternate realties crashing in on each other.
The developments of Spider-Man: No Way Home occurred because of one superpowers sorcerer who did everything he could to help a young boy take control of a life he had worked so relentlessly to give to the cause.
But as we have seen in the trailers; things may have gotten out of hand.
With the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans got their first glimpse into what was possible with a film that exists in an ever-deteriorating multiverse; and that may be something that also occurs in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
This could be proven by evidence in the latest trailer that may feature an iconic return.
In a scene that shows Doctor Strange seemingly imprisoned in a futuristic compound, we see what could be the return of Patrick Stewart’s Professor X; as we see the back of a bald man’s head, a silver chair that could be his now-signature wheelchair, and a voice very similar to the veteran actor.
The return would be continuing on the same threat that led the alternate reality Spider-Men to appear in the latest MCU installment of the character; with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness bringing the famed X-Men leader to the forefront of the MCU.
The possibilities of such a debut are endless, and with the seemingly iconically villainous plans for the MCU’s Wanda, we could finally be headed towards a mutant-filled future for the Marvel Universe.
