Following Spider-Man: No Way Home– what has been, to this point, the biggest movie of the pandemic era- Doctor Strange 2 will focus on the multiversal unravelings of the current Marvel landscape.
With projects like Loki, WandaVision, and Spider-Man: No Way Home all focusing on alternate realities and the combustion of the Marvel universe as we understand it, the Doctor Strange sequel feels like the culmination of the exploration of those ideas.

What makes the film even more excited as a Marvel fan, is that it will reengage Wanda Maximoff into the greater happenings of the MCU after her solo series debut on Disney+ last year.

Boxofficepro.com has recently published their calculated long-range projections for 2022 films with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness being projected to earn anywhere from $165 to $205 Million in its opening weekend.
Projections for Spider-Man: No Way Home hovered at around $150 million, which proved to be a severe underestimation of what the film would eventually conquer at the domestic box office.

Only time will tell how the long-awaited Doctor Strange sequel stands following its projection, but it would not be shocking to see it reach these amounts, considering the success of past Marvel films.
