‘Doctor Strange 2’ Star Breaks Silence on His MCU Return
A film that was billed as one of Marvel’s most incredible mind-bending adventures has experienced dominant two weeks in theaters, which has led to a surprise Doctor Strange 2 star breaking the silence on his MCU return.
There are few Marvel projects that can share the level of expectation that belonged to the long-awaited Doctor Strange sequel.
Billed as the MCU’s first true horror film from its original announcement, filmmaking legend Sam Raimi took the reigns of the mind-bending adventure and delivered fans with just that; a terrifying cinematic experience that truly justice the madness in the multiverse.
With Wanda having a massive role, alongside MCU veteran Wong and newcomer America Chavez, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was truly an unforgettable, chaotic, and fascinating adventure that sports twists, turns, and jumpscares.
One of the big draws of the film, and something that Raimi, writer Michale Waldron, and everyone involved was sure to make good on, was the incredible part that the multiverse would play in the characters that would be introduced over the course of the film.
With the Illuminati long-rumored to appear, Marvel fans were given one of the coolest MCU moments of 2022; only to then have it ripped away from them in subversive Sam Raimi fashion.
In a recent interview, one Doctor Strange 2 star broke the silence surrounding his MCU return something immensely fitting in the context of the character he plays.
As we move forward, there will be SPOILERS, so stop reading now if you haven’t seen the film; YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Taking to Twitter, Anson Mount finally addressed his return as Black Bolt; a reprisal that shocked most anyone who went to see the film.
Appearing as a member of the Illuminati, Mount reprised the role he played during the Inhumans television series that was short-lived; with him making good on playing the iconic character in a moment that truly developed Wanda as one of the MCU’s most menacing villains.
Mount stated in the Tweet, “Getting the call from [Kevin Feige] was one of the most unexpected of my life. It was an honor & joy to finally work w/ Sam Raimi who reached out to engage me on how best to do this. Beyond grateful for the experience.”
