Marvel Legends Mystique from X-Men: The Animated Series Has Been Unveiled!
The immensely popular X-Men: The Animated Series that debuted in the 90s is getting a sequel! Additionally, Marvel Legends has unveiled a new Marvel Legends Mystique from the X-Men 90s animated series.
First premiering in 1992, X-Men The Animated Series was an astoundingly popular series that garnered attention from critics and comic book fans alike. The ability of the show to deal with complicated societal issues while also adapting several comic book storylines gripped audiences who tuned in every week to watch.

Perhaps the most cunning villain on the show, and certainly the most deceptive, was that Mystique. Mystique’s mutant ability consisted of being able to shapeshift into any mutant or human, even going as far as replicating the person’s voice.
Mystique also had unique connections to multiple characters in the show. She was the adoptive mother of Rogue after Rogue’s powers manifested at 13. After running away from home she met a shapeshifted motherlike figure in Mystique who raised Rogue, feeding and sheltering her before entering her into the Brotherhood of Mutants.

However, Rogue wasn’t the only one of the X-Men with parental connections to Mystique. In the animated series, Mystique was also the biological mother of Nightcrawler, after the father witnessed Nightcrawler’s appearance he left, prompting mystique to place him in a basket abandoning him in a river.

The Marvel Legends Mystique is an almost exact replica of her appearance in X-Men: The Animated Series. Baring her trademark blue skin, Mystique’s colors are identical to the show and she also comes with additional weapons and interchangeable hands.
One of the unique accessories accompanying Mystique is a little baby Nightcrawler! This Nightcrawler is reminiscent of when Mystique left him as a child, and he even has a tiny pacifier. The coloring on all of the items and Mystique herself is a unique 2D Cell-shading that is done to mimic the coloring in the animated scenes.

Perhaps the most unique element of this figure is its beautiful retro packaging. Done in the style of a 90s VHS tape, the packaging encloses the entire figure with beautiful art on both sides. This figure is an amazing piece for any fans of the old animated series or Marvel Legend fanatics!
Mystique is sure to return in X-Men ’97! While A firm release date is not yet available, many suspect that the series will release sometime in 2023, possibly the summer of 2023! We cannot wait for this amazing series that continues the original X-Men: The Animated Series!
