Does New ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Teaser Hint at the Godbomb?
With the brand new film officially arriving in less than a full week, Marvel has ramped up some short teasers as it closes out its promotional campaign; with one celebrating the arrival of Christian Bales Gorr the God Butcher, we have to ask; did the new teaser hint at the Godbomb?
It is a Marvel adventure that is shaping up to be quite unlike anything that has come from the Marvel Cinematic Universe in its decade-plus history, and something that feels worthy of being an unprecedented fourth solo film for the character of Thor.
Thor: Love and Thunder were always highly-anticipated for the brand new things that it was set to bring into the MCU; with the announcements of Natalie Portman’s return as Jane Foster- taking up the mantle and becoming The Mighty Thor- being made back in 2019.
Portman’s arrival as The Mighty Thor, the return of characters like Korg and Valkyrie, and the arrival of the terrifyingly menacing Gorr the God Butcher has made us tremendously excited to see what Taika Waititi has in store for his second Marvel outing.
With the film arriving in just a few days, theories have hit their most outlandish, but with bite-sized being shown by Marvel in anticipation of the arrival of the film, we may have seen something that could give us some insight into the coming film.
In a recently released Thor: Love and Thunder teaser, Marvel may have just hinted at the Godbomb; the horrific weapon designed by Gorr to bring swift death to every deity across the entire galaxy.
Comic fans are aware of the Godbomb’s apocalyptic powers, and the true danger that it spells for the rest of the galaxy, with this brand new trailer showing off the true devastating nature of the Necrosword, and this potential weapon.
It will be interesting to see if the weapon has ties to Knull, as some scenes also seem to point to Gorr’s ability to manifest creatures able to fight on his behalf; hopefully, the film will introduce the iconic new villain to the world of the MCU
Christian Bale makes his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Gorr.
