Taika Waititi Comments on that ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Post-Credit Scene
In what was the latest installment of Thor’s MCU saga, and the character’s record-setting fourth solo film, there was a look at some previously unknown gods of the Marvel Universe; in a recent interview Taika Waititi commented on that Thor: Love and Thunder post-credit scene, and the specific one.
It was easily among the most-anticipated entry of Phase Four, as the Marvel Cinematic Universe was poised to continue its development of one of its most beloved heroes.
Thor has become a fan favorite after years of languishing amidst the most underutilized of MCU characters; before the phenomenally well-received Thor: Ragnarok seemingly changed everything for his trajectory and standing with the fanbase.
Thor: Love and Thunder saw the return of the two people most responsible for the character’s revitalization, Chris Hemsworth and Taika Waititi, in their second collaborative effort that was set to carry the character forward into a new future.
One of the coolest moments came at the very end of the film when it was made very clear that the next installment of this franchise will feature one beloved character making his MCU debut; in a recent interview, Taka Waititi spoke on that Thor: Love and Thunder post-credit scene.
As you may have guessed, there will be massive SPOILERS from this point onward; so YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
The film featured two post-credit scenes, and interestingly enough, one featured the return of a longstanding MCU character, and the other featured the arrival of an adored Marvel hero that fans have been clamoring for.
The first post-credit sequence showed the official arrival of Brett Goldstein’s Hercules, in which Waititi revealed that the decision to cast him came directly from the boss; as Waititi told Uproxx, “Kevin really wanted him to do it, and yeah, Brett’s amazing. He’s great.”
Waititi added, “And I don’t know if thas to do with Thor, or if its to do with how that will develop. Because, obviously, Hercules, others a character from the books as well.”
The director noted “And so, yeah, this will be interesting to see because Kevin, he’s obviously the mastermind of all of these threads and how they’ll tie up and how they meet, mix and match. So I’m curious to find out myself.”
Waititi concluded by stating, “And it was such a cool moment in the cinema where it played, that people went nuts. They were so excited.”
We cant wait to see what’s in store for Hercules, as he has become an integral aspect of the Thor universe in the comic books.
