Marvel Reportedly Saving Huge Announcements for D23?
With the triumphant return of Hall H, fans have been ecstatic about what we could uncover about the direction of the MCU following the conclusion of Phase Four this year, but there have been reports that suggest that Marvel is saving huge announcements for D23.
There is no really understating the tremendous tradition that San Diego Comic-Con has become for Marvel fans, with Hall H earning iconic status as the famed ground that has been the location for some of Marvel’s most tremendous announcements.
It was an event that fans last saw in 2019, when Marvel announced much of the Phase Four lineup, with Thor: Love and Thunder representing the final project to be released after being announced at that event that feels so long ago.
The COVID-19 pandemic had forced the event to postpone its annual status, and two years later it has finally returned, and returning to it is Marvel Studios and that same Hall that has become legendary, and almost a hallowed place for those who are so connected to the history of the MCU.
It may not be for long, however, as recent news stories suggest that Marvel is reportedly saving huge announcements for D23; the Disney event that is set to take place in just a few months.
The initial report comes from Deadline, who released a Tweet suggesting that this is a direction that could be impending for the Studio; with a caption that stated, “Some sources believe Marvel is saving it all up for Disney’s fan convention D23 during the second weekend of September,”

It is an interesting concept to ponder, as it feels as though Disney would benefit from Marvel taking a lot of bigger announcements out of a third-party event, and allowing them to be breaking news at a Disney-exclusive event that would bring more attention to D23.
The growth of Disney-run conventions like D23 or Star Wars Celebration feels like its attempt to continue to keep everything in-house, and although it would certainly benefit Walt Disney Studios, it does feel like an unfortunate reality for even so many people adore.
