Could ‘Madame Web’ be a Spider-Man Prequel?
There have been a lot of rumors surrounding the developing Sony film around the enigmatic Marvel character, but if the rumors do happen to have some semblance of truth to them, could Madame Web actually be a Spider-Man prequel?
A lot of online buzzes recently has been around just who could show up in the next entry to Sony’s film universe of Spider-Man characters, with the Parker family reportedly present and accounted for in the brand new Marvel-based film.

With a lot of people theorizing that Adam Scott and Emma Roberts could be playing the Parker siblings, there have been a lot of rumblings about the film following the birth of Madame Web, and the protection of Mary Parker from a villain attempting to prevent the birth of Peter Parker.
The idea is quite intriguing, and could provide a very interesting addition to this developing film universe, but could the film- more so than just exploring a story for a generic Spider-Man- actually be a precursor to the main franchise that we all know and love?
Could the impending Madame Web actually be a Spider-Man prequel? But, a prequel to the iconic Sam Raimi Spider-Man films of the 2000s?

There are few characters as beloved as Peter Parker’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, and within that hero, there are few incarnations that are as beloved as the Toby Maguire starring Spider-Man films that truly set the genre on track when it arrived in the 2000s.
Before Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man epics there was a lot of doubt that comic book adaptations could work on the big screen, with the hero being adapted following years of failed attempts, but completely revolutionizing what fans could expect.

Crafting Madame Web as the precursor to that franchise would be a brilliant way to both create a brand new character, and orchestrate something that closely connects to a hero already so firmly engrained in viewers.
The reality is that Sony may not see the value in moving backward, and instead set Madame Web on a brand new course; protecting a Mary Parker who could be bringing to life a brand new Spider-Man the franchise will give birth to.

Either way, Sony’s Spider-Man film franchise is certainly getting that much closer to actually bringing forth the arrival of their version of the iconic Marvel hero.
