MCU’s Fantastic Four Close to Finding a Director?
It is clearly one of the biggest appointments in the history of the MCU, and will be the introduction of one of Marvel history’s greatest collectives; and with the film set to kick off the highly-anticipated Phase Six, the MCU’s Fantastic Four could be close to finding its director.
After Marvel Studios, and Kevin Feige’s, appearance at San Diego Comic-Con a couple of months ago, one thing is abundantly clear, we are heading into uncharted territory for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as they build toward the next intergalactic conflict.
That event saw the MCU architect unveil what was all of the upcoming Phase Five while delving a bit into Phase Six and showcased a restructured release schedule that displayed the highly anticipated arrival of Marvel’s first family as the projects et to jump-start the massive sixth phase for the MCU.
That project has a tremendous amount of weight and anticipation attached, however, as there is no denying their importance- not just to the overarching MCU- but in the massive pantheon of Marvel heroes, being some of the most important heroes that this company has offered the industry.
Marvel knows the value in getting this decision right, and how unbelievably important it is that this collective arrives and meets the incredible expectation of the fanbase, but with much deliberation on the cast and crew of the film, the MCU’s Fantastic Four could be closing in on a director.
In a recent report by The Direct, it would seem as though the long-awaited MCU reboot slated for November 2024 is setting its sights on the director responsible for bringing the beloved WandaVision to life, director Matt Shakman, to helm the Fantastic Four’s MCU debut.

The Direct has reported that Shakman has already signed on to direct the project, although there is no real verifying this news as of yet; with the WandaVision director replacing MCU veteran Jon Watts, and reportedly set to be introduced as director at the upcoming D23 expo this September.
