‘Blade’ Rumored to Finally Have Filming Date
It has been one of the most uncertain sagas in Marvel this year, and fans have followed along to hopefully get some information as to when their fan-favorite Marvel hero could arrive on the big screen, but it seems like we may have some answers, as Blade is rumored to finally have its filming date.
There are few Marvel comics heroes who have had as unique a journey in the source material, and in their adapted work, as the Daywalker himself, Blade
No one could ever deny the flat-out coolness of the Marvel hero, who is the resident vampire slayer of the Marvel Universe, but he has also been a character that hasn’t been explored as often as a lot of fans would like; being relegated often to a second-tier comic hero.
That didn’t stop the character from being the centerpiece of his own film franchise, however, and one that may have been the ultimate proof of concept of the worthiness of comic book adaptations on the big screen, as it was Blade that preceded Spider-Man and X-Men as massive film successes.
Now, that hero is set to find a new film home in the ever-growing Marvel Cinematic Universe, and with Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali announced to bring that hero to the big screen, Marvel fans are anxiously awaiting any sign that the project is moving forward.
We may now, finally, have that, as Blade is rumored to have finally set a filming date, and although that filming date is set to be very soon, it may disappoint some fans for what it means about just how far away the project is from coming to fruition.
It was reported by CBR.com, that, “Blade will film in Atlanta GA starting on Oct. 5 all the way through Jan. 28, 2023. This is in line with a filming start window that was revealed in July, which stated that the Marvel Studios reboot would begin filming in at Tyler Perry Studios in October 2022…”
It is definitely good news that the project is moving forward, we can only hope that production will run smoothly and we will be one step closer to seeing Blade finally reemerge on the big screen
