‘She/Hulk at the Halfway Point: How Does MCU’s Newest Series Stack Up?
There was so much excitement surrounding the debut of Marvel’s newest hero, as we approach She/Hulk at the halfway point, we ask just how it stacks up.
It had long been a highly anticipated project for the MCU, as Jennifer Walters was primed to make her long-awaited arrival to the live-action Marvel universe.
A character that has undeniably been one of Marvel’s funniest, and most interesting, there was so much excitement from fans as to how she would be adapted into this ever-growing Marvel world.
In the story of a hero who is attempting to balance her life as a female lawyer in a city like Los Angeles, Walter’s entire world gets turned upside down when she is given the powers of her cousin, Bruce Banner, who is none other than the Hulk himself.
With five episodes of the first season already behind us and nine in total on the ledger, we have to address She/HUlk at the halfway point and dissect just how it stacks up to the work that Marvel Studios has already done on the Disney+ streaming platform.
The reality is that She/Hulk may be one of the most fun projects that Marvel has ever developed, with it clearly bringing something utterly new to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Tatiana Maslany is clearly and undeniably a star, and she is the perfect choice to bring this character to life, while every passing episode is proving her value to the MCU moving forward.
But perhaps what has stuck out so much about this project is how entertaining it is, and how writer Jessica Gao and director Kat Coiro have used a self-aware comedy to make light out of a world that is rather regimented with such a strict continuity.
She/Hulk has proven to deliver all of the hilarity you would expect from a Marvel project, but in a way, that feels completely fresh and new, and with a cast that is some of the best.
