‘Shang-Chi’ Sequel Rumored to Have a Release Date
There were few Phase Four projects that were as well received, and with many assuming a follow-up is in the works, a Shang-Chi sequel is rumored to already have a release date.
With the arrival of Phase Four, there was a lot of hesitancy from fans as to how the MCU would rebound from the incredible events of Avengers: Endgame.
Although it was one of the most inconsistent eras for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it did prove to have some exceptional titles, with the most notable of them being Shang-Chi.
Introducing the eponymous hero to the Marvel Universe, Simu Liu quickly proved to be a star in the making for the Marvel universe, and a key cog in the development of the ever-growing universe in the future.
It was a film that presented an incredible story of family, love, and the power of grief, the film introduced one of the best hero and villain dynamics in the MCU’s history; as the title character faced his familial demons in the form of his father, the Mandarin.
The title was a step forward in the avenue of action sequences and embraced far eastern storytelling dynamics in a way that hadn’t been approached yet for the MCU.
And with that tremendous success, there was only a matter of time until a follow-up would be announced, and it seems as though some inside sources have noted a Shang-Chi sequel is rumored to have a release date/
As reported first by ComicBook.com, the sequel film is slated within the Marvel Studios planning to release on February 14th, 2025; making it one of Marvel’s Phase Six projects.
Although San Diego Comic-Con saw the announcement of the final two Avengers films- and Fantastic Four- all taking place in Phase Six, there was a plethora of projects that had not been announced but had their release date noted.
