‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ Adds ‘Rick and Morty’ Writer to Pen the Script
It may be one of the biggest films of Phase Six, and it now has a conductor, as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty has added Rick and Mory writer Jeff Loveness to pen the script.
There are a few days on the calendar that mean as much to Marvel fans as the Studio’s annual visit to the massive west coast convention, San Diego Comic-Con.
Always the vital date, the venue of Hall H has been the setting of some of the biggest announcements in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and that hasn’t changed with the Studios’s highly-anticipated return this year following a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Not only did Marvel head Kevin Feige announce a completely restructured Phase Four and Phase Five, but he discussed three of the films that fans can expect from Phase Six.
With that announcement, fans first heard of the two Avengers films set to close out Phase Six, and with that date likely a lot sooner than we even realize, Marvel has reportedly taken a massive step forward, as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty has added Rick and Mory writer Jeff Loveness to pen the script.
The film will likey be a tremendously important addition to the MCU, as it will likely follow Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania- which Loveness is also writing- as the next appearance of the terrifying Marvel villain, Kang the conqueror.
There is not much known yet about the project, outside of Loveness, and Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton’s reported involvement.
Deadline, who first reported his involvement, stated, “Loveness cut his teeth writing on the acclaimed and widely popular animated series Rick and Mory. His work on that ultimately landed him the Ant-Man and the Wasp sequel was given how funny the series can be and how important that tone is to the script.”
