Marvel Reveals Brand New Bucky Barnes at New York Comic-Con
In a panel that was completely dedicated to the upcoming Captain America: Cold War event, Marvel has revealed a brand new Bucky Barnes design at this year’s New York Comic-Con.
There is little argument to be made against the reality that Captain America may well be one of the greatest characters to ever be created for the comic book medium.
He is a hero who so perfectly embodies so much of what makes this genre of entertainment great, and is a hero who may be unmatched in his relevance, longevity, and fan adoration.
This year has seen the continued success of two Captain America runs, one following the adventures of Steve Rogers as he uncovers the gruesome and mysterious history of the shield he wears and the other following Sam Wilson.
The two comics were running in unison, and although they certainly provided some of the most interesting content for this year’s Marvel slate, it was all with a purpose, as they were leading to 2023’s Captain America: Cold War event.
That event is the next massive saga in the story of both Captain America, and it was given its very own booth at this year’s east coast convention; which is where Marvel revealed the new Bucky Barnes design at New York Comic-Con.

With so much being discussed and teased for the future of this incredibly interesting take on the Captain America legacy, there were some brand new designs for the upcoming project that was front and center for comic book fans.
One of the most interesting, outside of the brilliant first cover displayed by artist Salvador Larocca, was a brand new Bucky equipped with a very sleek new black armor, a black cape, with an iconic red star that defines this next iteration of the hero.
We cannot wait for this series to come to fruition, and to see just how Bucky is used in this brand-new way as the Cold War event unfolds.
