Tatiana Maslany Discusses the Tragic Ending of ‘She/Hulk’ Episode 8
Marvel’s most entertaining series yet experienced a massive tonal shift that preceded one of the most heartbreaking moments of the season, as Tatiana Maslany discusses the tragic ending of She/Hulk episode 8.
There is no denying that the MCU’s most recent Disney+ series has been one of the best explorations of a character that has ever been done by Marvel on the streaming service.
Exploring fan-favorite Marvel hero, Jennifer Walters, the series has been immensely entertaining thanks to the comedic nature of the eponymous character and the fourth-wall-breaking style that has brought self-awareness to the MCU that didn’t exist in the previous installment.
Those comedic moments were put on hold, however, as the most recent installment of the new series tested viewers by presenting what was a truly heartbreaking moment for the hero fans have come to adore these past eight weeks.
In an interview with Marvel, Tatiana Maslany discussed the tragic ending of She/Hulk episode 8, and why that was the right step for the character.
Maslany stated, “Initially she sort of confidently able to deal with [becoming She-Hulk] because she spent her entire life being angry or afraid, so that transition into She-Hulk is effortless, it doesn’t have a bunch of torture in it. It doesn’t have a bunch of violence in it. it’s clean because that’s how she learned to deal with her emotions.”
Maslany added, “I always wanted to remind all of us that this moment where she is so angry is massively justified. It’s only because of the outward perception of that anger and how it looks from the outside that tit looks monstrous. Of course, she wants to go after this guy who just publicly humiliated her. Of course.”
