Destin Daniel Cretton Seemingly Confirms He’s Directing ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’
He orchestrated one of the best films of Phase Four, and it seems as though Marvel has recognized his tremendous talent, as Destin Daniel Cretton seemingly confirmed he’s directing Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
The convention circuit of this year promised fans an update of things to come for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but I don’t think that anyone could have predicted just how big the announcements proved to be for the future of the film franchise,
San Diego Comic-Con was undeniably a game changer for the MCU, with Kevin Feige taking the stage and promising to fans a restructured Phase Four while presenting the entirety of Phase Five, and even some of Phase Six, in a tremendously massive announcement panel.
It was the final moments of that announcement that previewed one of the most exciting films on the slate, a brand new Avengers movie centered around Phase Five’s big villain; and following the announcement, rumors started swirling as to who would bring that project to life.
It seems as though we now have confirmation, as Destin Daniel Cretton has seemingly confirmed he’s directing Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Speaking to ComicBook.com’s Brandon Davis, Cretton seemed to confirm the news in a very subtle way; with the exchange going as follows;
Davis: Is it true?
Cretton: Is what True?
Davis: Are you the man for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty?
Cretton: Is that true? I think so (Laughs)
Destin Daniel Cretton was one of the best directors of Phase Four, as Shang-Chi and the LEgend of the Ten Rings easily stands out as one of the best films of that collection.
There is a lot of hope from fans that Cretton was able to do with the tremendous action of Shang-Chi, balanced by the film’s tremendous heart, which would be the perfect recipe for the upcoming Avengers film.
