Jeremy Renner Reflects On His Near-Fatal Snowplow Accident- “I Stand Strong Again”

On the second anniversary of his near-fatal snowplow accident, Jeremy Renner rang in 2025 with a profound sense of gratitude.

Renner was critically injured in a January 1, 2023, snowplow accident that left him with more than 30 broken bones. The incident occurred as Renner attempted to stop his snowplow from sliding and running over his nephew. After being pulled under and crushed by the tractor, the Marvel star was airlifted to a hospital, where he was treated for blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.

After a long road to recovery, Renner was able to resume his acting career. Last year, he returned for Season 3 of his Mayor of Kingstown series. He also recently filmed Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.

Renner Reflects On His Journey

As he rang in the new year, Renner took to Instagram to share his gratitude and thank those who helped him along the way.

“Ringing in my second ‘ReBirthday’ today I send out my love, respect, and gratitude for the army of people that it took to put me back together again. Thank you to each and every nurse, doctor, first responder… I literally owe you my life,” he wrote.

“All my heart goes out to my beautiful, brave nephew and the angels (my neighbors) who jumped to my aid and endured the chaos for 45 long minutes on the icy asphalt New Year’s morning.”

“I Stand Strong Again”

Taking stock of his current state, Renner declared, “I stand strong again.”

“With the amount of love and prayers that flooded in from you all around the world (needing each and everyone of them), my family never leaving my side, with some divine intervention, a bit of luck and a whole lot of miracles … I stand strong again,” he continued.
