Faran Tahir Is Returning to the MCU For the Upcoming ‘Vision’ Series
Seventeen years after making his Marvel Studios debut in 2008’s Iron Man, Faran Tahir is heading back to the MCU.
According to a new report from Deadline, Tahir will reprise his role as Raza Hamidmi al-Wazar in the upcoming Vision series.
Here is the latest.
Tahir Starred as Raza Hamidmi al-Wazar in ‘Iron Man’
For those who don’t remember, Raza was introduced in the first Iron Man movie as the commander of a Ten Rings terrorist cell in Afghanistan. In the film, Raza makes a deal with Obadiah Stane to kidnap Tony Stark in exchange for the inventor’s weapons. Unfortunately for the terrorist, Stark was able to escape.
Raza then continued to use Stark technology to expand his control of the region. When the Ten Rings leader made a second deal with Stane, however, he and his men were betrayed and seemingly killed.
Apparently, Raza survived.
What We Know About the ‘Vision’ Series
While details on the upcoming Vision series remain sparse, we know that the show will star Paul Bettany as the white version of the synthezoid that was introduced in WandaVision. Joining Bettany and Tahir will be James Spader, who is reprising his role as Ultron from Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Todd Stashwick, who is playing an undisclosed character.
With Terry Matalas heading the series, expectations are understandably high.
Bettany Has Sounded Excited
For his part, Bettany has sounded thrilled with the project.
“We’re cooking up something that I’m really excited about,” he told The Hollywood Reporter last October.
The Vision series is expected to debut on Disney+ next year.
