The ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Re-Release Will Feature New Footage Tied to ‘Doomsday’
Last year, Marvel Studios announced that Avengers: Endgame would be re-released in theaters to help set the stage for Avengers: Doomsday.
As production on the upcoming Avengers adventure has progressed, Kevin Feige and his team have made it clear that Doomsday will serve as both the penultimate chapter of the Multiverse Saga and a direct sequel to Endgame.

Originally, the fifth Avengers film was expected to center on Jonathan Majors’ Kang, continuing storylines introduced in projects such as Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Loki.

That direction ultimately changed. Following Majors’ legal issues and conviction, Marvel shifted its plans for the film.

During last week’s CinemaCon presentation, directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo revealed that Avengers: Endgame will include new footage when it returns to theaters.

“It’s an opportunity to create a bridge from Endgame to Doomsday in a very unique way,” Joe Russo explained.
What to Expect
While details about the added content have not yet been revealed, the prevailing notion has been that Steve Rogers’ decision to remain in the past with Peggy Carter will somehow catalyze a multiversal incursion and set the stage for Doomsday.

Perhaps, then, the extended version of Endgame will further explore Steve’s decision and its broader impact on the MCU.
Avengers: Endgame will return to theaters on September 25.
