Tom Holland Reveals If Jean Grey Is in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’
The biggest question looming over the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the identity of Sadie Sink’s mystery antagonist.
In the lead-up to the film’s debut, the expectation has been that Sink is Jean Grey.
The X-Men character’s debut in the MCU would mark a major moment for the franchise and would see Peter face off against perhaps his strongest foe.

“Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city as a full-time Spider-Man,” the film’s logline reads. “But as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence. Even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.”
Is Sink Playing Jean Grey?
With just eight days to go until Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters, fans have convinced themselves that Sink is indeed playing Jean Grey.

For her part, the actress has not let anything slip, though she did admit that keeping her character’s identity a secret has been difficult.

“It’s torture. There’s so much speculation, too,” Sink said about her secretive Spider-Man 4 role. “I feel like there’s a new character every week. I tell people. The people I know.”
Tom Holland Weighs In
Now, Tom Holland has weighed in on the big mystery.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day star Tom Holland was recently asked if Jean Grey appears in the movie, and he actually gave a definitive answer.
“She’s not in this movie, but it would be pretty cool,” he said.

Obviously, fans should take Holland’s declaration with a grain of salt.
After all, not only would the actor not reveal Sink’s character, but he has also been known to misdirect fans about his Spider-Man films.
For now, however, the official line is that Sink is not playing Jean Grey.

We will have to wait and see if that holds true when the film hits theaters next weekend.
