Another Fan-Favorite Character Has Been Added to the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Cast
With Marvel Studios once again taking center stage at San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H, fans went into last weekend expecting news.

The Marvel head made waves with the revelation that Ryan Gosling will star in a standalone Ghost Rider movie.
Additionally, Black Panther 3 is coming to theaters in 2028, with David Jonsson assuming the mantle of the titular hero.

Finally, there was Avengers: Doomsday.
Hayley Atwell Will Return in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
Joined by some of the Marvel multiverse’s biggest stars, Feige and directors Joe and Anthony Russo shared new footage from Avengers: Doomsday.

They also revealed that the already expansive cast has added another member.
Hayley Atwell will reprise her role as Peggy Carter in Avengers: Doomsday.

At this time, it is unclear whether Atwell will portray the traditional version of the character, as she did in Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Avengers: Age of Ultron, or play Captain Carter.

Atwell previously portrayed the super soldier in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
An Existential Epic and a New Side of Peggy
After news broke that Atwell will appear in Avengers: Doomsday, the actress finally got the chance to discuss the film.

“Without giving anything away. I think that you have a movie that’s an existential epic. The whole thing’s turned on its head,” she told ScreenRant.
“It’s not a world you really recognise, and then there are aspects of it that are familiar, but that feel very heightened and vulnerable. And I feel like, with Peggy, she’s on the receiving end of that.”

While Atwell did not reveal which version of Peggy she will play in Doomsday, she did tease that the film would explore a new side of the character.
“In the past, Peggy was considered the adult in the room, the one with the uniform that you can trust and rely on because she’s a good person,” she said.
“It’s always fun to play something that feels a little bit [more] expansive than that, a little bit more nuanced, because I think that makes her also even more human and relatable.”
