The Goochland Drive-In Theater can no longer show Black Panther this weekend. They planned to show the movie in honor of the late Chadwick Boseman–King T’Challa himself.

Since Boseman’s passing, he’s be celebrated as a leader in the film community, a man of quiet strength, and one that fought cancer behind the scenes. Tributes to the late star have abounded on Twitter and a special tribute aired on ABC on Sunday.
On Monday afternoon, the drive-in posted to their Facebook page that they were unexpectedly were told they can’t show the film. Disney Studios didn’t give a reason for the change in policy.
“We are both saddened and embarrassed by this turn of events. And sincerely wish Disney would rethink their decision,” GDIT wrote on Facebook.

The theater says that they are extremely disappointed by Disney’s decision. They planned to give a portion of the proceeds from the weekend showing to cancer research.
Now that the Drive-in theater can no longer show Black Panther, they’re rushing to find another movie to celebrate Chadwick Boseman. Once a decision is made, they’ll update their Facebook page.
