WANDAVISION: Marvel Sends Comics Back to Print
According to an article from Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Comics is sending several of the comics that sold out as a consequence of WandaVision’s popularity back for additional printing.
Witch Comics Sold Out?
These comics include House of M (2005) by Brian Michael Bendis, Olivier Coipel, Tim Townsend, Rick Magyar, Scott Hanna, John Dell, Frank D’Armata, Chris Eliopoulous, and Esad Ribic, which had some influence on the series, especially in terms of visual cues (like the building blocks that came together to create the Maximoff’s home, or the pieces that began to fall out of Vision, Tommy, and Billy when the Hex began to degrade).
There’s also Vision (2015) by Tom King, Gabriel Hernandez Walta, Jordie Bellaire, Clayton Cowles, Michael Walsh (on #7, my favorite issue of the series for obvious Wanda-related reasons), and Mike Del Mundo. This story features Vision attempting to set up his life in the suburbs with two kids and a dog named Sparky – but things go awry, in part because Agatha Harkness arrives. Funny how that keeps happening, hon!
And then there’s Scarlet Witch (2015), written by James Robinson, David Aja on covers, Cory Petit lettering, and with a roster of rotating artists on each issue of the series, emphasizing the different locales visited by Wanda in her world-traveling quest to fix magic.
Here at Marvel Blog, we like to think that this Scarlet Witch series gives you a glimpse of the character that we saw paging through the Darkhold at the conclusion of “The Series Finale.”
Unlimited… Options!
While WandaVision is not a direct adaptation of any of these comics, there are elements of all three of them present in the series – as well as many other comics about Vision and the Scarlet Witch, many of which we’ve discussed right here on Marvel Blog!
In addition to the fact that these runs are going back to print, you can also read each and every one of them digitally (plus many more comics about Vision, the Scarlet Witch, and our very own Agatha Harkness herself) right now on the Marvel Unlimited app.
