KEEN GEAR: Spider-Man “STUNTRONIC”
Attention Marvel Blog True Believers! Today, we want to take a moment to highlight one of the features of the upcoming Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure Park: the Spider-Man “Stuntronic” robot, which will be swinging above the brand new area of the park when it opens.

A New Development in Stuntronics
As Disneyland devotees are already aware, autonomous audio-animatronic robots have long been an integral part of the Magic. However, most of those with which guests have become well acquainted are nowhere near as acrobatic as the Peter Parker who will be soaring over Avengers Campus.
Consider the robotic buccaneers of Pirates of the Caribbean – we want the red head! – or the spooky denizens of the Haunted Mansion: while they may have a lifelike quality to their movement and sound, they mostly operate within a small range of motion, engaging in repetitive movement in a cycle that repeats many times per day.
By contrast, the Spider-Man stuntronic can swing through the air, performing impressive acrobatic maneuvers… the kind you’d only expect to see above the streets of New York City in the panels of Marvel Comics!
In the coverage for the stuntronic at The Orange County Register, it has been speculated that the large crane at the center of Avengers Campus will be integral for the swinging Spidey, which makes a lot of sense to us here at Marvel Blog!
The Spider-Man stuntronic is just one of the exciting features of Avengers Campus, which will give you a chance to meet some of your favorite Marvel Comics characters, have a taste of the Marvel Universe, and even build and take home your own Spider-Bot.
