Did You See the Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Mug in Loki?
It’s Loki Wednesday, Marvel Blog True Believers. That means Loki has taken over the Internet and our hearts (again) for the third time since Marvel Studios’ Loki premiered on Disney+ on June 9th, 2021. But that’s not the only thing the God of Mischief has conquered since taking over the streaming platform, they have also taken over the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California – and they acquired some really cool artifacts from Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar in the process.
If you haven’t seen this week’s episode of Loki on Disney+ – which was made available for streaming at 12:00 A.M. PST on Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021 – then you’ll want to Time-Twister away from this page right now to avoid spoilers for episode three.
Loki Lamentis Going to the Tiki Bar
In the third episode of Loki, we finally learn the whens, hows, and whats of the magical method that the other Loki Variant, who goes by the name Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), used to extract information from Hunter C-20 (Sasha Lane) about the location of the Time-Keepers. And yes, it involved a lot of enchanted margaritas and hand holding.
Sylvie uses her magic to plunge into the darkest recesses of Hunter C-20’s mind in order to extract the information about the Time-Keepers’ location.
To do this, the Goddess of Mischief directly touches Hunter C-20 on the forehead, allowing her to enter the TVA agent’s memories to remove the knowledge that she possesses about the Time-Keepers – think the Head Key from Locke & Key. And Marvel Blog True Believers, this is where things get fun because the memory that Sylvie enters is of the two women sipping margaritas on a beach somewhere!
For all the Disneyphiles out there, the exciting thing about this scene is that the margaritas are served in souvenir glasses that look exactly like the ones at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar.
Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar
With the Disneyland Resort open again to the public, and Trader Sam’s reopening on July 2nd, 2021, it’s time to remind you that the Disney tiki mug craze is real.
For readers who are 21+, if you want to purchase one of these amazing mugs for yourself, you’ll have to head to Disneyland to purchase one. Unfortunately, however, the mugs are only available for purchase along with an alcoholic beverage in the parks.
Because I have the whole collection myself, let me just say, these mugs are built to last. In fact, my Disney tiki mugs survived two moves despite most of my other glassware being broken in the process.
