Hot Toy’s Zombie Hunter Spider-Man from WHAT IF…?
Well Marvel Blog True Believers, the first episode of Marvel’s What If…? arrives for streaming on Wednesday, August 11th, 2021, but the merch is already begin to roll out! Maybe it isn’t surprising given that we aren’t only dealing with one timeline’s worth of tie-in products any longer, we’re dealing with a branching multiverse licensing situation!
So far, the LEGO sets and t-shirts have given us tantalizing glimpses of alternate versions of the Marvel superheroes, like T’Challa as Star-Lord and a super-soldier serum’d Peggy Carter, but there’s one hero who is getting his own one-sixth scale figure from Hot Toys, and you can pre-order it right now: Zombie Hunter Spider-Man.

Zombie Hunter Spider-Man
We don’t know too much about Zombie Hunter Spider-Man so far, because his episode of Marvel’s What If…? won’t air until at least September 1st. However, the accessories included with this $270 Hot Toys figure does offer some tantalizing hints of what’s in store for this character in the animated Disney+ show.

Perhaps most intriguing of all is the confirmation by the accessories list that What If…? Peter Parker is wearing Doctor Strange’s Cloak of Levitation! We first saw this enthusiastic accessory in 2016’s Doctor Strange, and although earlier footage of Zombie Hunter Spider-Man already suggested he’d be wearing it, there was also the possibility it was just a cheap imitation (like Rick’s jacket on Rick & Morty).

As far as the figure goes, this one-sixth scale makes Zombie Hunter Spider-Man the ideal compliment to any Spider-Verse style team of Hot Toys Spider-Man collectibles. Imagine Zombie Hunter Spider-Man alongside Spider-Punk and Iron Spider, with the Anti-Ock Suit as back-up! Now that’s a team-up!
