RUMOR: Is PARK SEO-JOON in The Marvels?
In an article posted on the Malay Mail website, it was reported that Korean heartthrob Park Seo-joon would be appearing alongside Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Iman Vellini (Ms. Marvel), and Teyonah Parris (Monica Rambeau) in the upcoming sequel to Captain Marvel, titled The Marvels.
Park Seo-joon
According to the article on the Malay Mail website, the source for this news is Korean entertainment website Allkpop, who found the information on the IMDB page. This means that this news is tantamount to a rumor. After all, there’s a reason IMDB is called the “Inaccurate Movie Database” on certain corners of the internet!
However, let’s hope that this news about Seo-joon is accurate.
The speculation on his inclusion in the movie began back in June, when the Korean news source Star News reported the actor would be traveling to the United States (and based on a quick peek at his Instagram, the actor was also been busy hulking-up over the course of the pandemic).
Totally Awesome Speculation
Seo-joon’s resume includes Korean television work like What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim and Itaewon.
The Malay Mail website states that some people are speculating that Seo-joon could be playing Amadeus Cho, and while they note that Cho is also known as “Brawn,” there is another name he’s sometimes called that could be relevant here: the totally awesome Hulk!
This incarnation of the Hulk has all of the strength and none of the rage (probably), and to be honest, the actor is already the spitting image of the character… I mean just look at this AAPI Month variant from Marvel Comics artist InHyuk Lee to see what Marvel Blog means…
Immortal Hulk #49: ASIAN AMERICAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER HERITAGE VARIANT COVER (AAPI COVER)
I drew a total of 9 covers (9 heroes), the sixth of which is the Amadeus Cho!

However, Cho is a teenaged character, while Seo-joon is 33 years old. Nevertheless, the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of the character could be a bit older than the one we met in the panels of Marvel Comics!
The Marvels
It remains to be seen whether or not Seo-joon will officially join the cast of The Marvels, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed, Marvel Blog True Believers! We’ll find out for certain when the sequel arrives in 2023 (if he doesn’t appear in one of the official trailers or other promotional information before then).
