THE MARVELS: The Marvel Family Unites BTS
Marvel Blog True Believers, according to our sources over at Murphy’s Multiverse the Marvel Family will finally reunite in the upcoming sequel to 2018’s Captain Marvel, in which Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) is set to team up with Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris).

Larson isn’t the only cast member returning to the set of The Marvels, Samuel L. Jackson has already teased his return as Nick Fury as well (at least according to the Murphy’s Multiverse article) – something that would totally make sense given that first end credit scene in the final episode of WandaVision on Disney+.

Yet, it seems that Danvers, Fury, and Rambeau may not be the only returning characters in The Marvels.
Marvel Updates tweeted a photo of part of the cast and the film’s director Nia DaCosta, who were recently spotted out in public in London with actress Lashana Lynch, who previously played Maria Rambeau in Captain Marvel.

According to Murphy’s Multiverse, it’s currently unknown whether Lynch will appear in The Marvels, or if she was just having lunch with friends while they were in London (where Lynch is based). However, since both DaCosta and Parris are newcomers to the franchise it seems possible that she could be joining the film’s cast.

After meeting Lynch’s character, Maria, in Captain Marvel, and seeing her powerful relationship with Carol Danvers, the character was also briefly mentioned in WandaVision, where we first meet her daughter, Monica, and find out that she died of cancer sometime during the Blip.

Thus, if Lynch is indeed cast in The Marvels, it’s likely that her role will be limited and set to the past. Maybe a flashback? In WandaVision, the script hinted that Monica might harbor animosity towards Carol because of something that happened with her mother, and it will be interesting to have that relationship explored.
