Marvel’s Stormbreakers Variants Celebrate Marvelous Couples
In an article posted on Thursday, September 23rd, 2021, the official Marvel website revealed a series of Stormbreakers variant covers that celebrate some of the most popular couples in the history of Marvel Comics! And the first variant will arrive just in time to celebrate the November anniversary of Vision and Scarlet Witch’s move to suburbia after they eloped in the comic version of the WandaVision storyline!
Marvel’s Stormbreakers
The Marvel’s Stormbreakers program is the next evolution of Marvel’s Young Guns program, and it celebrates some of the up-and-coming talent at Marvel Comics, including some big names that you have probably already heard of if you’ve been reading Marvel Blog, like Peach Momoko, who has been behind some of the most arresting covers in recent memory!
In 2020, Marvel introduced the inaugural class of the Marvel’s Stormbreakers program, and in addition to Momoko, it includes: Carmen Carnero, R.B. Silva, Natacha Bustos, Patrick Gleason, Juann Cabal, Iban Coello, and Joshua Cassara.
In order to highlight the talents of the Stormbreaker artists, Marvel has arranged for a new series of variant covers that spotlights both the work of the publisher’s talented artists but of the legacy of the most famous couples in Marvel Comics history!
Arriving in November
If you want to collect this series of Stormbreaker variant covers, you’ll want to be sure and schedule some trips to your local comic shop in November. This series of eight variants will arrive on various Marvel Comics titles which are released on November 10th, November 17th, and November 24th, 2021.
The couples featured will be Spider-Man and Mary Jane by R.B. Silva, Cyclops and Jean Gray by Iban Coello, Daredevil and Elektra by Juann Cabal, Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman by Natacha Bustos, plus Mystique and Destiny by Momoko (my personal favorite).
Then, there are additional covers featuring Storm and Black Panther, Vision and the Scarlet Witch, and Captain America and Sharon Carter, all three of which have yet to be unveiled, by creators Carmen Carnero, Joshua Cassara, and Patrick Gleason.
Marvelous Couples
While all eight of these covers feature a beloved Marvel Comics couple, there are simply too many Marvelous couples to include them all. Did your favorite Marvel couple get left off? Which one of the covers are your favorite?
