Principal Photography Complete
For those who have been closely following the production of Quantumania with us here at Marvel Blog, this is not the first update we’ve had on the movie.
In February 2021, we learned that Quantumania had begun filming in the underground cities of Turkey (no kidding – I wonder how this incredible location will play in).
Then, in May 2021, Reed revealed that he was working on preparation for Quantumania using The Volume, the special digital stage that has been integral in the production of The Mandalorian on Disney+. This technology was made familiar to Reed when he directed a second season episode of Mando (and one featuring giant bugs… I guess the guy has a speciality, Marvel Blog True Believers).
In addition to a Tweet announcing the completion of principal photography by director Reed, writer Jeff Loveness also sent a Tweet reporting the news… in just about exactly the way you’d expect the Rick & Morty alum to report it:
Ant Man is a wrap. I have written a movie. Film is birth. Film is death. Film is a guy going big and small. pic.twitter.com/3r4fou6giY
— Jeff Loveness (@JeffLoveness) November 23, 2021
More exciting still, Loveness reveals a special Quantumania cameo:
Gambit. Is. Back.

Obviously, Loveness is joking about the mutant making an appearance in Quantumania. But just in case he isn’t: you read it here first, Marvel Blog True Believers!
Coming in 2023
Quantumania is scheduled for release in July 2023, and while principal photography may have concluded, it is possible that more filming may occur before we get to see the final product.
Nevertheless, this is an exciting milestone on the long road from here to Quantumania! Let us know what you hope to see in the movie in the comment section, Marvel Blog True Believers!
