However, for those who want a little more Shang-Chi in their lives, the Blu-Ray edition of the movie includes exclusive deleted scenes and behind-the-scenes footage!
Razorfist or Razorarm?
In a Tweet sent on Tuesday, November 30th, 2021, the official Marvel Twitter account posted a video featuring Liu himself offering an introduction to a deleted scene.
The scene takes place during the dinner that Shang-Chi has with his sister, Xialing (Meng’er Zhang), his best friend, Katy (Awkwafina), his father, Wenwu (Tony Leung), and Shang-Chi’s nemesis, Razorfist (Florian Munteanu). In the video, Wenwu intentionally sets up a rivalry between Shang-Chi and Razorfist, explaining that when Wenwu saw Razorfist juggling on the street in Romania, the child reminded the leader of the Ten Rings organization of his absent son.
As a result, Wenwu recruits Razorfist. That’s when Xialing points out that Razorfist has Wenwu to thank for his arm, followed by Katy pointing out that the name “Razorfist” is sort of an oxymoron since fists are blunt and razors are sharp.
This all gets to Razorfist, who looks somewhat dejected, but Wenwu steps in to defend him, saying he can call himself whatever he wants! It’s a fun and funny scene that adds a nice additional wrinkle in the relationship between Razorfist and Shang-Chi (and helps explain why Razorfist makes the decision he makes in the third act of the movie).
