REVIEW: Latke Laughs in Spider-Bot #1
In the first episode of the new Spider-Bot Infinity Comic on Marvel Unlimited by Jordan Blum, Alberto Alburquerque, Dono Sanchez-Almara, and Clayton Cowles, Spider-Man sends his Spider-Bots on an incredibly important mission: to pick up a take-out sandwich for Mary Jane after he forgot her birthday!

With a funny, breezy storyline, some incredible Marvelous cameos, and even a latke joke, this Infinity Comic is one you must check out!
Spider-Bot #1
This story reminded me a bit of two other Infinity Comics! The first is Pizza Dog, the first episode of which saw Lucky tracking down a pizza that didn’t get delivered to him and Hawkeye.

The second is It’s Jeff, which follows Gwenpool’s pet landshark, Jeff. Just like Spider-Bot, both of these comics feature stories that revolve around low-stakes issues like securing delivery food. This isn’t exactly an Avengers-level crisis, and that’s just perfect for these Infinity Comics!
Next, I enjoyed the Marvelous cameos, which included The Ever-Lovin’ Thing and Fin Fang Foom.

It’s no surprise that a comic written by Blum would have amazing cameos – in fact, Fin Fang Foom even appeared in the very first episode of Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K., which was also written by Blum.

I also enjoyed the fact that this episode included multiple references to Seinfeld, including a restaurant that looks just like the exterior of Monk’s Diner and a chef who looks just like Larry Thomas, who played Yev Kassem in the episode “The Soup Nazi.”
And finally, The Thing makes a latke joke… in a comic released during Hanukkah! My Kiddush cup floweth over, Marvel Blog True Believers! I’m looking forward to the next episode of this delightful and fun Infinity Comics series.
