‘Hawkeye’ Actor Vincent D’Onofrio is Reportedly Without a Marvel Contract
It appears as though one of the MCU’s biggest returns may turn out to be short-lived as Hawkeye actor Vincent D’Onofrio is reportedly without a Marvel contract.
Hawkeye was a pleasant surprise for many MCU fans, featuring the first solo story for Jeremy Renner’s longtime MCU character, Clint Barton, while also featuring the next great inheritor of the Hawkeye mantle in Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop.

The Disney+ series ended up being one of the MCU’s most grounded, as it focused on the more human aspects of being a superhero; fitting for the only Avenger that is without a superpower.
Although the series featured some iconic debuts and returns in the form of Alaqua Cox’s Echo and Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova; there was one reprisal that caught most fans by surprise, and gave Hawkeye one of the coolest moments in the MCU’s phase four.

The return of Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk was crucial to the series development, as the story would reveal him as the mastermind behind the villainous attempts on Clint and Kate.
Fans were ecstatic to see D’Onofrio reprise his now-iconic Daredevil character in the current MCU, and with plans for Echo to eventually get her own Disney+ series, there was an expectation that D’Onofrio was here to stay.

That expectation may not be the case as Vincent D’Onofrio is reportedly without a Marvel contract heading into the continued development of Phase Four.
Appearing on the Sarah O’Connell Show, D’Onofrio was asked if he is signed on for any more MArvel projects, to which the actor responded, “No, I’ve been through this before with Daredevil. It’s very clear to them all that I really want to play this part, keep playing it.”

D’Onofrio concluded, “I’m just hoping that continued. I’m just beginning to have fun with it,”
With Echo seemingly ending his run on Hawkeye, there is a lot of speculation about the now-infamous alley scene, and whether or not D’Onfrio’s Fisk truly did meet his end.

Many fans hope a return is inevitable, as Kingpin’s appearance dominated the news during the final two episodes of Hawkeye; being one of Marvel comics’ most iconic characters, and a performer that fans have grown to adore, it only makes sense that D’Onofrio will eventually return.
