Original ‘Doctor Strange 2’ Director Comments on the Newest Trailer
It seems like everyone has an opinion on what Marvel shared this super bowl Sunday as the original Doctor Strange 2 director, Scott Derrickson, comments on the newest trailer.
There is perhaps not a more important film to the further development of the MCU than the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
The upcoming sequel to 2016s Doctor Strange has given fans the continuation to the multiversal decimation that began in the Marvel Disney+ series Loki and WandaVision; only to continue in the iconic and now record-breaking Spider-Man: No Way Home.
With the former sorcerer supreme, Doctor Strange, toying with the multiverse in order to help Peter Parker in the predicament created by Mysterio after the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, it appears as though everything became all the more unstable.
As it says in the trailer, things are truly about to get out of hand, with fan speculation reaching a fever pitch as to just what characters could potentially appear in the highly anticipated sequel, and what those carious appearances could mean for the MCU as a whole.
With everyone giving their own theories and opinions, the latest to interject is the original director of Doctor Strange 2, Scott Derickson, who comments on the newest trailer for the film he was originally set to helm in 2019.
The trailer is great and of course I’m excited! I love Sam — he was the right director for this one, just as The Black Phone was the right film for me to go make. All is good. https://t.co/hksv0pDcPe

Derrickson tweeted out his feelings on the trailer, and the film overall, stating,, “The trailer is great and of course, I’m excited! I love Sam- he was the right director for this one, just as The Black Phone was the right film for me to go make. All is good.”
There were many rumors circulating after Derrickson and Marvel parted ways over creative differences, as to just what occurred between the two parties.
Derrickson was the visionary filmmaker behind the character’s MCU debut, as he directed the original Doctor Strange in 2016; yet, the two parties had different perspectives of just what Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness could be.
One can only hope that the legendary Sam Raimi can continue the fantastic work done by Derrickson in the original!
