‘Ironheart’ Actor Confirms Ryan Coogler’s Involvement in Marvel Series
It appears as though one of Marvel’s brightest storytelling minds is branching beyond the character he’s so closely connected to, as Ironheart actor Anthony Ramos has confirmed Ryan Coogler’s involvement in the Marvel series.
There are few directors who have accomplished similar feats while collaborating with Marvel Studios as Ryan Coogler.
The visionary was the guiding force behind the 2019 Oscar-nominated Black Panther, which some would argue is the most impressive Marvel film to this day.
The cultural relevance and historical importance of that film cannot be overstated, and Coogler so brilliantly brought those characters- and the entire country of Wakanda- to life in a way that may not have been possible with a different direction at the helm.
With the brilliant mind is hard at work developing the long-awaited sequel in the form of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Ironheart actor Anthony Ramos confirms Ryan Coogler’s involvement with the Disney+ series.
Reported first by ComicBook.com, Ramos confirmed the fantastic minds at work on the series, stating, “Its incredible people, Chianka Hodge, Ryan Coogler, and just, like, a dope squad… you know, Dominique Thorne… and I just feel blessed and grateful.”
Although there is uncertainty as to what Coogler’s role will be in the upcoming Ironheart series, it isn’t a surprise that he is connected; as the eponymous character, Riri Williams is making her MCU debut in Coogler’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
As ComicBook.com also notes, Coogler’s production company, Proximity Media, has also signed an overall deal with Disney, “For a Wakanda-set spinoff series and a ‘select MCU shows for Disney+'”
The report goes on to say, “Proximity media is ‘already in the mix’ with Marvel Studios brass Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Victoria Alonso ‘on some projects that we cant wait to share.'”
It appears as though Marvel has committed to working closely with Ryan Coogler, which feels like a smart move considering both the brilliant storytelling mind he has proved to be, and his willingness to continue expanding the lore of the Marvel Universe.
