Could Blade’s MCU Debut Happen on Disney+?
With filming on the characters first solo film taking place this summer, a recent report suggests Blade’s MCU Debut could happen on Disney+.
There are very few Marvel announcements that garnered the level of surprise that overtook MCU fans when Mahershala Ali was announced as the character of Blade during 2019’s Comic-Con.
He was just coming off of an Academy Award and clearly stood as one of the most accomplished and in-demand actors, setting up to play the iconic daywalker in his very own Marvel Cinematic Universe Film.
There were a plethora of announcements that night, but it was Ali’s that took the cake; after all, Blade stands as one of Marvel’s most interesting characters, who already has had a prominently successful live reaction adaptation in his own right.
The character would essentially make his first appearance- if you can call it that- in the post-credit scene of 2021’s Eternals; where he confronts Dane Whitman as he prepares to grab hold of the enigmatic Ebony Blade
News surfaced recently that Ali’s Blade-desire a long time of uncertainty and silence- would begin filming his very first solo entry this summer; a new report, however, has indicated that Blade’s MCU Debut could happen on Disney+ instead.
Reported by CBR.com, it seems as though some unnamed sources have verified that the character could appear as a supporting entity in the upcoming Disney+ Halloween Special, Werewolf by Night.
The official report made note that, “These insiders didn’t elaborate on Blade’s role in Werewolf by Night but the report speculates that the legendary vampire hunter could be looking to recruit the titular wolfman for a supernaturally-themed superhero team.”
We’re not sure how much stock we’re putting into the report, as the truth could be present somewhere; although maybe not in the way that the report initially claimed.
No one is sure what Werewolf by Night will actually be, and although we don’t think that Blade would already be putting together the Midnight Sons, we think he could have a role as the MCU’s supernatural expert.
