‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ Star Xochitl Gomez Talks America Chavez’ MCU Future
With her live-action debut finally arriving in the highly anticipated sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness star Xochitl Gomez talks about America Chavez’s future in the MCU.
There are few Marvel Cinematic Universe projects that can attest to the same level of anticipation and expectation that has been assigned to the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Picking up where Spider-Man: No Way Home left off, the film will see beloved Marvel characters like Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme Wong, and Wanda’s newly evolved Scarlet Witch confront the deteriorating Multiverse and the threats that loom from the various alternate realities.
The film is slated to be one of the most important in the vast MCU, culminating in the multiversal narrative that has been the throughline for many of Marvel’s Phase Four projects; and should be the MCU entry that introduces audiences to a host of new Marvel characters.

Among those characters is the interdimensional traveling young Avengers set to have a major role in the Marvel Universe moving forward; and in a recent interview, the individual responsible for bringing her to life, Xochitl Gomez talks about America Chavez’s future in the MCU.
Talking to Marvel.com, Gomez stated, “You can definitely see the beginning stages of what future America might become. I took stuff that was in the comics, and kind of lightened it up since she’s less experienced.”

The young actress continued by noting, “She’s younger than any of her known appearances in the comics, and I think you can see that.”
Gomex concluded by stating, “It was a fun challenge exploring what a younger and less experienced America might be, but also hinting towards the serious leader she would soon become. I wanted to keep that kid energy and a little bit of the fake-it-till-you-make-it confidence.”

Gomez’s portrayal of America Chavez is one of the most intriguing aspects of the upcoming film, and seeing how she interacts with Doctor Strange should be a treat for the long-awaited sequel film.
