With Loki first birthing the concept, and the record-breaking Spider-Man: No Way Home continuing its exploration, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is a film that was set to put Marvel’s resident sorcerer face to face with the side effect of all of the tampering with the delicate Multiverse.
A film that had few contemporaries as far as the incredible level of expectation, Doctor Strange 2 saw an incredible opening weekend, with its global earnings putting it in rarified air as far as films that debut in 2022.

With its first weekend, opening week, and the second weekend behind us, we’re all waiting for the financial implications of the latter; knowing only that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is projected for a $62 million second weekend.
The news came by way of ComicBook.com, which stated that “After scoring the second-best worldwide opening at the box office since the pandemic began, and the 7th highest opening total ever, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness earned $16 million on its second Friday.”

The report continued by stating that the MCU sequel, “is poised to add $62 million to its running total by Monday. The film is approaching $300 million at the domestic box office and $600 million worldwide.”
It is clear that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stands among the best box office performers of the pandemic era, with Spider-Man: No Way Home the only film that truly surpasses it in terms of its earning power.
