Marvel Reportedly Developing Brand New ‘Daredevil’ Series for Disney Plus
One of the most popular projects in the vast history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be born again, as Marvel is reportedly developing a brand new Daredevil series for Disney Plus.
There are few MCU entries that have connected with fans as much as the Netflix and Marvel collaborated Daredevil series.
The story of Matt Murdoch has always been one that has captivated the imagination of MArvel readers, and it was this near-flawless adaption that presented the story in a whole new way, for a whole new audience.
It was grounded and emotionally charged, as the series made stars out of newcomer Charlie Cox in the eponymous role, and veteran Vincent D’Onofrio as the main antagonist, Wilson Fisk.
With both of the characters making their returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Phase Four- with Cox’s Murdoch returning in the record-breaking Spider-Man: No Way Home, and D’Onofrio’s Fisk in Hawkeye– It seemed only a matter of time before a revitalization of the series came to fruition.
That assumption and speculation have come to fruition, as Marvel is reportedly developing a brand new Daredevil series for Disney Plus.
It was first reported by Variety, with its reputable sources affirming that Marvel Studios is going to renegade audiences with the story of Matt Murdoch.
The report had little to state as far as what fans can expect, but did state that “Matt Corman and Chris Ord are attached to write and executive produce.”
The writing duo made their mark on the world of television, becoming constant contributors to various Network television series; most well known for developing the USA Networks Covert Affairs, which ran for five seasons.
With Moon Knight standing as one of the best series in Marvel’s short stint in the world of long-form storytelling, it is clear that the work that Marvel Studios is doing on their exclusive streaming platform is on par with anything they do.
Ms. Marvel is set to arrive next month, with the newly arriving She/ Hulk: Attorney at Law slated for an August release, and we cant see where Daredevil stacks into the plans for the MCU’s future phases.
