How ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Could Introduce Knull
The first full-length trailer for the highly-anticipated Thor film has finally been released, and with it fans were given their first look at the terrifying Gorr the God Butcher; with his presence potentially leading to an even more terrifying entity, as we discuss how Thor: Love and Thunder could introduce Knull.
There are few Marvel Cinematic Universe characters who have been so endeared to the fanbase as Chris Hemsworth’s Thor has.
Marvel’s resident god of thunder started out as one of the weakest members of the initial original six Avengers but has grown to a level of popularity reserved for only the most beloved MCU heroes.
It was, in part, due to the characters incredible narrative; with his struggles with grief and loss coming to define his understanding and perseverance of the world.
It was also the creative presence of Taika Waitit that set the mythological hero on a brand new path filled with comedy and brevity that was worthy of a performer with Hemsworth’s talents.
The characters four solo films will culminate in this summers newest Thor adventer, and it is one that will introduce a hero’s whos mission- and immense power- will challenge all that our hero knowns to be true.
Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher has finally been shown to audiences in the latest trailer, and although he is terrifying and should be one of the MCU’s best villains, he could also lead way to a villain even more terrifying.
Could Thor: Love and THunder introduce the MCU to Knull? Well, there’s a good possibility.
Gorr’s main weapon that makes him a threat to the Gods he’s after is a sword called All-Black; a Necrosword crafted with symbiotic like qualities akin to a character like Venom or Carnage.
The weapon was actually forged by Knull, who is the god of the symbiote, and is one of the most sinister and terrifying characters in the current Marvel comics landscape.
Created by Jason Aaron- who also created Gorr- the only real question as to wether or not the menacing villain could have a place in teh Marvel Cinematic Unvierse is the debacle between where the characters licensing falls.
Marvel doesn’t have access to characters like Venom and Carnage, as Sony has the rights to the symbiote characters, but if the MCU can use Gorr to establish Knull in a way that doesn’t actually connect him to the characters of Venom and Carnage, they could have an iconic villain on their hands.
