Chris Hemsworth Reveals His Favorite MCU Villain
There have been few Marvel characters that have been present in the ever-growing universe for as long as Thor himself has, and with his fourth solo film arriving just next week, Chris Hemsworth has revealed his favorite MCU villain.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been perhaps the most ambitious and ever-growing endeavor that the film industry has ever witnessed; spanning well over a decade of a plethora of film franchises interconnecting into one massive film universe.
Over the span of that decade-plus we have seen countless hero’s and villains come and go, with only a select few able to say that they’ve been present from the start; something that is currently the case for Chris Hemsworth, who is presently the only Marvel character to get his fourth solo film.
He has been present alongside the original six Avengers, and has seemingly faced off against every kind of villain that you can imagine; from Ultron to Dark Elves, to Thanos, to his very own brother- more than a single time- it is safe to say that Thor has seen it all.
With Thor: Love and Thunder just a week away, and fan excitement reaching a fever pitch, the cast is currently in the midst of the film press tour, where we got an interesting bit of insight from the man behind the hammer.
In a recent interview with Digital Spy, Chris Hemsworth revealed his favorite MCU villain from his time on the franchise; the answer may surprise you.
According to Hemsworth himself, his favorite villain is actually Gorr the God Butcher, the villain set to oppose him in his fastly approaching newest film.
Speaking of Gorr, Hemsworth stated, “He’s my favorite villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and I love everyone I’ve worked with, but this was particularly special.”
The veteran actor added, “And a lot to do with what Christian said before, others this empathetic quality there, others a vulnerability. You kind of find yourself going, ‘Oh what he’s doing is wrong, but I get the sort of motivation behind it.”
Christain Bale’s performance as Gorr has been one of the most exciting developments of the upcoming film, as the characters remain one of Marvel comics’ most interesting and beloved villains.
