What to Expect From Marvel at D23
With the Studio’s return to San Diego Comic-Con equating to what was perhaps their biggest announcement panel ever, many fans are curious as to what could arrive at the Disney-exclusive event next month, as we break down what to expect from Marvel at D23.
Could the MCU actually see an announcement as big as the one we just got at SDCC? Or could this be a chance to get a greater look at what we already know? lest tell you what we want to see out of the next big event for Marve.
Fantastic Four Announcements
There is no denying that the upcoming Fantstic Four film- now moved to Phase Six- is among ghte most anticipate projects that the MArlve Cinematic Universe has ever attempted, and fans cannot wait to see what the studio has in store.
D23 could be a defining moment for the MCU if they announce some headway made on a search for the cast, director, or writers; as we expect Fantstic Four to be a focal point of the event in some way.
Deadpool 3
There were a plethora of fans who were upset that Marvel’s recently acquired merc with a mouth was nowhere to be found for the San Diego Comic-Con festivities (he was, however, very busy giving away chimichangas), but we expect the opposite to be teh case come D23 next month.
We know that the film is in development, and we know that there is a lot of progress being made on how it will fit into the overall MCU, and we expect next month’s event to be the perfect place for Marvel to formally announce the upcoming Ryan Reynolds starring project.
Wonder Man
There has been speculation for months that a Wonder Man series would be in the works from Marvel and Destin Daniel Cretton, and with Comic-Con being filled to the brim with announcements, this feel like one that would fit better at D23.
Whether or not Cretton is attached to the project, we do anticipate a Wonder Man series to highlight a Phase 6 breakdown, with at least a window of release date arriving.
Holiday Special Footage
There are two projects that are slated to release this holiday season, both of which we anticipate having some footage shown at the Disney event; those being the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, and Michael Giacchino’s Werewolf by Night.
Both projects have been well in development, and with the release date approaching this holiday season, there must surely be some footage, or at least some updates, that Marvel can share at the event.
Nova
Another title that has been the subject of plenty of rumors, we fully expect the announcement of Nova to be taking place at some point in Phase Six.
He is a beloved character that is long overdue for an appearance in the MCU, and with Fantastic Four beginning the Phase, we fully are prepared for an announcement that Rider’s Nova count continues it toward Secret Wars.
Armor Wars and Echo Updates
San Diego Comic-Con delved into some of the upcoming Disney+ series, and we expect both Armor Wars and Echo to get the Secret Invasion treatment at D23.
Both projects are getting close, with Echo in the process of filming, and should have some updates- and possible footage- to be shown at the event.
Shang-Chi 2
It was among the most exciting entries to Phase Four, and one of Marvels most underrated movies, and its sequel should be a focal point of the D23 event.
Destin Daniel Cretton may not be attached due to his filled plate for Phase Six, but the sequel film could be crucial in understanding more of the lore of the character, and interacting him with some other marital arts characters that Marvel has in their pantheon.
Thats everthng we expect from Marvel at D23, as we are prepared for a panel that could potentially rival the massive event that took place at SDCC.
